Welcome to video 26 in this series of 34 two minute videos detailing the key concepts in my new book, “Made To Thrive”.
“Made To Thrive” outlines the five roles that a leader must undertake to transition from being a good leader to being a great leader. Those five roles are accountability, ambassador, culture, strategy and succession planning.
Today we’re talking about strategy, and in particular 4.4. “Brand Promise KPIs are measured weekly “and performance is displayed all around the business.”
Earlier I mentioned that Harvard Business School had identified that 90% of strategies fail due to poor execution.
If brand promise is a key part of your strategy, then it’s your job to build a system that ensures that strategy’s successfully executed, that the strategy is executed well.
A brand promise is not a tagline.
A brand promise is a system that identifies how you will sell your what to your who because you meet their needs better than any other organization, and it should result in greater revenues coming to you organically but it must be maintained.
This is a system where you should always know the most recent and relevant numbers and so should all of the other people in the business because a great brand promise will help to build and drive sales. It will help salespeople to close easier.
For example, if your brand promise is that you would respond in one hour, and your salesperson was out there talking to a potential customer, that salesperson could say our brand promise is that we commit to responding in one hour.
In the last week, we had 1500 requests and of those, 96% were responded to within one hour. So, a brand promise not only helps you to drive revenues to your business organically, but it also builds trust with potential customers and helps your salespeople to close sales.
